UCTC exists to help the community of Udny and Pitmedden to develop

Udny is a rural community in Aberdeenshire.  It includes the villages of Udny Green, Pitmedden and Hattoncrook.

UCTC operates in the area covered by the Udny Community Council or Udny Parish.

UCTC earns income for community projects and groups through the profit generated by the wholly community owned Udny Community Turbine Company which is a trading subsidiary. UCTC distributes funds to community projects and groups in the Udny area and works directly and in partnership with other groups to deliver community initiatives.

UCTC  has an active board and a membership of around two hundred Udny residents. UCTC employs a part-time Development Office and a part-time Project Administrator. These roles are supported by the Big Lottery in Scotland Growing Community Assets Programme. They are based at the office in Pitmedden which was completed in October 2013 and officially opened in November 2013.

UCTC produces an annual report for its members each year to coincide with the Annual General Meeting. This annual report overs the period from 1st March to 28th February each year, bringing it into line with the accounting period. In 2004 UCTC also produced a longer term plan setting out its priorities for 2014 to 2019.
