Udny Community Trust Company Limited (UCTC) exists to help the community of Udny and Pitmedden to develop.

Udny is a rural community in Aberdeenshire.  It includes the villages of Udny Green, Pitmedden and Hattoncrook.

UCTC earns income for community projects and groups through the profit generated by the wholly community owned Udny Community Wind Turbine Company which is a trading subsidiary.

UCTC is grateful to the Big Lottery in Scotland for their support through the Growing Community Assets Programme which has allowed the organisation to develop.

Development Officer Vacancy

Salary £27-32K depending on experience

We have recently undertaken a community consultation “Imagine Udny” which has outlined an ambitious and exciting masterplan and series of projects to enhance our community.

In order to drive and deliver these projects in partnership with the community, we are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Development Officer. Reporting directly to the Board, this is a stand-alone post where you will play a lead role in supporting community and other groups to deliver a wide variety of projects.

You will have previous experience of working on community projects, excellent project planning and communication skills and the ability to organise and promote events and activities that deliver the aims and aspirations of “Imagine Udny” and increase local community involvement and participation. You will demonstrate considerable financial acumen and the ability to provide statistical financial analysis and to develop business plans and proposals for funding applications.

You will succeed by drawing on experience of partnership working with a local community and other relevant agencies and the ability to develop sustainable commercial development strategies. A knowledge of the local area and community would be an advantage.

The post is offered on a full-time permanent basis with flexible hours to suit the needs of the Trust. Some evening work and weekend work will be required and you will need access to your own transport.

How to join

All Udny residents over the age of 16 can apply for membership of UCTC.

Representatives of community organisations active in the Udny area can also join, but the majority of members will always be ordinary residents.

You can download a copy of the membership application here.  Once you have filled it in and signed it, please return it to us and it will be considered by the Board at their next meeting.

Apply for funding

There are two separate application forms for grants from the Community Fund.  Both can be downloaded from this website.

Please use the small grant application for grants of up to £500 and the large grant application for grants of more than £500.  Please have a look at the funding section of the website for more information.
